Ayurveda and Homeopathy are two alternative systems of medicine that are growing fast and becoming more popular as a choice for treatment especially in India. Ayurveda originated in India more than 2000 years ago, while Homeopathy originated in Germany 200 years ago.
Both Ayurveda and Homeopathy work on different ideology and emphasises on different aspects of health. For example Ayurveda works on prevention of the disease and homeopathy cures a disease.
Ayurveda works on creating balance of Vatta, Pitta and kapha as imbalance of these three leads to diseases. The ideology of Ayurveda is to prevent disease with the help of yoga, meditation, massages and herbs.
Homeopathy on the other hand works on the principles “similars cure similars”, “single medicine”, “vital force”, “minimum dose”. The ideology is to activate the deranged vital force to cure the body. The vital force is the driving force of the body (in modern words the immune system) that prevents and cures a disease. If the vital force is deranged then the body gets sick and if the vital force is strong it knocks down the disease. The vital force creates the harmony of all the organs of the body so that they can work together and normal functions of the bosy can be carried out.
Both Ayurveda and Homeopathy have no known side-effects but are entirely different: in the way they work, on the principles and the ideologies of their work, but are proven to be far more effective than expected.
Ayurveda becomes challenging as the results are delayed and due to lack of evidences also it’s efficacy is crticized throughout the world. Homeopathy on the other hand is emerging as the second most used system of medicine is slowly and steadily picking up pace by showing results in clinical trials.
